Baluchon sac du marché
Baluchon sac du marché

Made from very old woven cotton from Spain in turquoise green with white stripe. The original toiles were used to make mattress covers.
The baluchon bag is inspired by the traditional way of carrying goods in a square of fabric, often tied in the four corners. The market version is a bigger tote style bag with an interior pocket, surprisingly spacious with knotted handle that can be carried or worn on the shoulder. The lining is antique repurposed linen from sheets, sourced in France.
Made by me, by hand. Please note, the bags are new, but the fabrics are not and while I have done my best to salvage the best parts there may be some signs of age.
The last photo shows the same model - style and fabric- but please note, this is not the bag for sale. Two editions of this bag were originally available.
